• Giving preventive information and advice to prevent mouth problems
• Providing preventive treatment such as scaling and polishing and applying fissure sealants and fluorides
• Doing fillings
• Carrying out extractions and crowns (for milk teeth)
• Replacing lost crowns and fillings.

I qualified in London in 1983 and have worked as a therapist ever since, so I have lots of experience of treating patients of all ages – many of them being children. I started my career working in the Community Dental Service treating children and people with special needs. I currently work at 2 dental practices in Essex and teach student dentists, Dental Therapists and Dental Hygienists at Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry (also known as The Royal London) in Whitechapel.

Therapists are trained and skilled in techniques to help patients accept dental treatment happily. These are particularly useful for children, anxious patients and even those with a dental phobia. Patients often comment on my patience and caring manner. I strive to make appointments as enjoyable, comfortable and worry-free as possible and for my patients to be happy to return to the surgery.

Like dentists, I am registered with the General Dental Council and undertake continuing professional development training throughout my career.
