Dermal filler treatments involve injecting a substance into the skin to reduce folds and wrinkles. It works by plumping up the skin to “fill out” the lines and wrinkles, leaving a smooth and natural looking effect.
Dr Pitt uses a Restylane Gel. The main component is Hyaluronic Acid, a substance occurring naturally in human skin which helps repair damaged tissue and hydrate skin. It can also bind with collagen, a naturally occurring substance which supports facial skin, in a way that allows more nutrient flow to the skin giving a fresher and more youthful appearance.
While Hyaluronic acid is naturally a liquid, it is produced in a gel form to help it last longer before being metabolized by the body. This usually lasts 6-9 months but can vary between individuals.
With all Filler treatment the effects can be seen straight away. We will ask you to visit us 1 week after treatment for a review and follow-up treatments are usually required after 6-9 months.
