Are you worried about a number of missing teeth and exasperated with your dentures?
Prior to treatment we will carry out a full detailed examination of your gums and bone health to consider the suitability of dental implants for you and based on the results of this examination we may recommend a bone graft to help place the implants securely.Don't be, our experienced implant dentists may be able to place one or two implants to support a denture and by the appropriate positioning of the implants it may be possible to create an implant retained denture that replaces a number of missing teeth. Partial or full dentures can be designed to be attached to standard dental implants.
The implants will then be fitted under a local anaesthetic. You will not feel any pain at the time, but may feel some discomfort in the weeks following surgery.
Once the implants have been placed, they will be left to heal for a couple of months, this allows the bone in your jaw to grow and fuse with the implant in place at which point the denture can be made.
As few as two implants are needed in the lower jaw and usually four in the upper jaw to provide a patient with no teeth or poorly fitting conventional dentures, with well fitting implant retained dentures.
If you only require partial dentures the dentist will be able to provide a detailed assessment of the number of implants required to best support the denture.
They help to improve confidence, with no need to worry about the dentures moving when speaking or eating
