Try the ice Tricks – to ease toothache
if you’ve got a niggly tooth, rub some ice on to the back of your hand, on the webbed area between your thumb and forefinger for serveral minutes. A canadian study found it reduced toothache by as much as 50 per cent compared with using no ice.
‘We use acupuncture on this point to relax patients – it helps block the pain pathway’, says dentist Dr Stephen Pitt from www.the-dental-studio.com. Using ice on the point appears to work even better as it helps overwhelm the pain impulses that travel along the nerve pathways.
