Factors to consider when thinking about getting straight teeth with orthodontics.
Most of us would like to have straighter teeth however the thought of all the various ways to straighten our teeth is sometimes daunting and discourages us from going ahead with such treatments. This article helps you to identify the factors to consider when considering orthodontic treatments.
- What are you looking to achieve? Do you just need the front few teeth straightened, or would you like the whole smile to be broader? Do you have problems eating what you would like or do you get jaw pain at all? Are you unhappy with the amount the teeth stick out?
The answers to these questions will go a long way to giving you an idea what sort of brace would be best for you; Braces like Inman Aligners and 6-Month-Smiles are fantastic for straightening front teeth, but they will struggle to make big changes to your bite or the back teeth. If you need this then low cost fixed braces or Damon braces may be a better option.
- How quick would you like your treatment to be? Is there a big event that you need the treatment finished for?
Obviously, in an ideal world all treatment would take 8 weeks and give a perfect result, but in reality this isn’t the case. However, some simple straightening of the front teeth can often be achieved quicker than you might think with Inman Aligners or clear fixed braces.
- Would you like your treatment to be discreet or invisible? Would you like to be able to remove your brace?
Whilst traditional braces are clearly visible on the teeth, there are other options that can be more discreet. 6-Month-Smiles fixed braces are clear and much more discreet than a metal brace. Lingual braces are attached to the inside of the teeth and are completely invisible when you smile, but both of these options are fixed to the teeth. Invisalign is not only almost completely invisible, but can also be removed when needed, making it one of the most discreet options around!
- Are you working to a set budget?
There are so many different options available when straightening teeth, and they all have very different prices. At The Dental Studio, our low cost fixed braces start from just £99 per month, making the treatment more affordable than you might expect. Other options can be more expensive, but with 0% finance options available as well as manageable payment plans, there is normally an option to suit most budgets.
